About this tool

What is DMARC?
Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting and Conformance. A DNS TXT record that tells receiving mail servers what to do with email that fails SPF or DKIM checks — monitor it (none), send it to spam (quarantine), or reject it outright (reject).
What does p=reject mean?
The strictest DMARC policy. Mail that fails authentication is rejected before it reaches the inbox. Start with p=none to monitor, move to quarantine, then reject once you're confident your legitimate senders pass.
Why do I need DMARC?
Without DMARC, spammers can send email that appears to come from your domain — a technique called spoofing. DMARC prevents this and is increasingly required by major providers like Google and Yahoo for bulk senders.
What are RUA and RUF addresses?
RUA (aggregate) reports are daily XML summaries of who is sending mail as your domain and whether it passes. RUF (forensic) reports are per-message failure notifications. Most domains only configure RUA.
