About this tool
- What is a WHOIS lookup?
- A query to a public registry database that returns registration details for a domain or IP: who registered it, which registrar, when it was created and when it expires, and which nameservers are configured.
- Why is registrant info hidden?
- Most registrars offer WHOIS privacy (domain privacy). Instead of showing the registrant's contact details, they show proxy information. This is standard for personal registrations and increasingly common for businesses.
- What does 'clientTransferProhibited' mean?
- A domain status code that prevents transfer to another registrar without the current registrant's authorization. It's a security feature against unauthorized domain hijacking.
- What is DNSSEC in WHOIS?
- Domain Name System Security Extensions. 'signedDelegation' means the domain's DNS records are cryptographically signed, protecting against cache poisoning attacks. 'unsigned' means no DNSSEC is configured.
